ART IN THE RAW Studio Sale!
I’m making room for new ideas and new work. I am offering my archive of unframed “raw” original art directly from my studio which includes printmaking and spritz (spray) painting pieces.
I call it “raw” because the artwork often shows my process and I like that. It may have been created outside in the elements, walked on, stacked, folded, pinned to the wall, or handled with wet inky hands. Therefore, you might find fingerprints, printmaking ink smudges, paper wrinkles, pin holes, grit, and oxidized chlorophyll (my favorite). Or it might be pretty tidy!
A good portion of this art was made as a way for me to “sketch” out ideas, experiment and create content needed for surface pattern design, digital work, and other creative projects. And some of it was created as a time and place stamp documenting a moment in my life.
I’ve used all kinds of papers in all sizes and weights. Mark-making materials include oil and water-based printmaking ink, spray paint, and cyanotype solution. I even have large printed papers stitched together with my sewing machine - the leaves were too large for my press so I cut them in half, printed, then sewed the prints together.
So if the idea of unframed “raw” work appeals to you, please take a look!
Additional notes:
Many of the pictures show the edges of the paper so you get an idea of scale and placement of the print. If you need more detailed photos please reach me at karen@relatingtonature.com.
The actual work my differ slightly from the image due to the difference in monitors. The paper tones range from white to warm whites. And I admit, my photos are a bit raw too ;-)
Once purchased, I will sign the work where appropriate (either on the front or back) and include a signed certificate with details.
All sales are final so I’m happy to send more detailed information and photographs if requested.
